Responsibilities:

This role involves assessing both existing fireplace and chimney systems as well as evaluating sites for new fireplace installations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, project management experience, and excellent communication abilities. 

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate existing fireplaces, chimney systems, heating appliances, stoves, flues, vents, and gas logs to determine condition, efficiency, and necessary repairs.
• Assess and evaluate sites for new fireplace and chimney installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
• Identify deficiencies, document findings, and prescribe appropriate repairs or installation requirements while adhering to all relevant building codes.
• Generate detailed inspection reports, estimates, proposals, and customer communications to explain findings and recommendations.
• Research and interpret local and national residential building codes to ensure compliance for both repairs and new installations.
• Utilize knowledge of building materials and project management to support accurate estimates and installation planning.
• Work closely with customers to provide detailed evaluations, explain findings, and offer solutions tailored to their needs.
• Maintain strong communication and sales skills to effectively convey recommendations and secure project approvals.
• Use computer programs, including Microsoft Office, for report writing and project documentation.
• Participate in on-site and off-site training, education, and certifications to stay up-to-date with industry standards.
• Operate drones for chimney inspections (FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification preferred).
• Lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions. 

Requirements:

• High attention to detail and willingness to learn a specialized industry.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of building materials, project management, and estimating.
• Knowledge of local and national residential codes is preferred, with the ability to research and apply codes effectively.
• Sales experience and strong communication skills to interact with customers professionally.
